Abstract

The experiment was conducted at the research area of Oilseed Research Institute, Faisalabad to study the association analysis for yield and its characters in 30 linseed genotypes. The genotypic and phenotypic correlation coefficient obtained between different traits was similar in direction, while in magnitude, genotypic correlation was higher than the corresponding phenotypic correlations. Traits like number of seeds Capsule-1, number of capsules plant-1, number of branches plant-1, 1000 seed weight and had the strong positive association with seed yield. Path coefficient analysis revealed that direct and indirect effects of genotypic path coefficients were higher in magnitude than the corresponding phenotypic path coefficients. Number of capsules per plant showed a high and positive direct effect on seed yield.
