Abstract

The present studies aimed to explore the relationship among different yield and quality traits in cross combinations LRA-5166 LSS, ARIZONA QUEEN LRA-5166 and MNH-512 LRA-5166 designated as cross 1, cross 2 and cross 3 respectively. Plant hieght (PH) had positive correlation with sympodia branches (SB), monopodial branches (MP) and bolls per plant (BPP), in all the three crosses but it had positive association with Ginning out turn (GOT%) in cross 2 and 3 with SL in cross 2, with FS in the cross 3, and it showed a negative association with FF and SL only in the cross 3. SB had a positive association with MB, NB and GOT% in all the three crosses while it had a positive relationship with FS in crosses 1 and 3 and with SL in crosses 1 and 2. SB had negative correlation with FF in cross 1. BPP had a positive correlation with FS in crosses 1 and 3. FF had positive correlation with FS in cross 3. FF negatively correlated with FS in crosses 1 and 2. GOT% had positive correlation with SL in crosses 1 and 2 and with the FS in crosses 1 and 3. All three crosses had the potential to be used in the development of high yielding varieties possessing good fiber quality traits
